A renovation, the need to update or an accident often causes us to have an extra light fixture laying around waiting to be tossed out… hold a bit before you toss it out! Light fixtures are perfect for upcycled project, even the most hideous glass lamp enclosures can be transformed into functional pieces of art.
It's a rare occasion when I run across a complete set of dishes. Most days my shelves are overflowing with a wide variety of plane jane plates, colorful tea cups and saucers, and a smorgasbord of collectible pieces.
I have to admit they don't sell very quickly even though they are awesomely priced. This leads me to believe that you are all just waiting for something unique to create! There is no limit to the beautiful things you can create using old plates and saucers, even when they are boring on their own.
Baskets come in all shapes and sizes. There is a plethora of things that one can store in them and an endless list of things you can use them for. I went on a Pinterest hunt for repurposing ideas and wasn't surprised to find that there are only a few ideas on new things to make with old baskets (hanging lamps, for example).
It's safe to say that most prefer to give new life to old baskets with a quick makeover. There are tons of tutorials on how to spruce them up with paint, stain or fabric. There are also tons of make a basket projects that start from scratch with random materials.
While looking thru the shop for new inspiration to share, I found the thimble basket.
Calling thimbles junk is taking things a bit far, I'll agree! So just know I don't mean it. Thimbles are little works of art in their own right, and they guard your precious fingers from sharp pointy objects.
